Trinity Plans
The next couple of weeks went by quickly. Mac and I ironed out our final inventory for the trip. We managed to pool our resources and came up with a menu that would work for all. The biggest problem at the campsite is refrigeration. We would lean heavily on fish that we catch and pick up what we needed at the overpriced market at the lake! Part of the whole camping deal!
As usual, I buried myself in Fiverr projects and took care of Elaine. I have a good life, but something is not right. I'm not sure what the problem is. Is there too much of something and not enough of something else? Or, am I just a chronic malcontent? Maybe it's all part of the thing called life. There has always been this part of me that has to reach for the next branch on the tree. On the whole, this theme of not fitting into society is beginning to plague me. Each day seems like an increment in social distancing. Some years ago, I read some of Charles Bukowski's stuff. His alcoholic-bipolar-pessimistic social commentary is hilarious, something strangely relatable! I often wonder if I've assumed a social vitriol like Hank Chinaski!
On a Friday at the beginning of June, Paige and Mac came by around 3 in the afternoon. Wasn't much to do except hang out until Elaine arrived at five. We decided to go out for a pizza and then to a movie. It was an easy walk down to the restaurant, about 5 blocks away. Not very busy for a Friday night! The pizza arrived along with a pitcher of Anchor Steam Beer. Anchor Steam is a very old, local brewery that has a very unique, west coast beer.
"Any ideas on a movie?" Asked Paige, while she looked at her phone.
"Choices?" I asked.
"OK...Martian, Sicario, or the new Mad Max?" She said, not looking up.
"Mad Max.." Said Elaine. We all looked at one another. "Mad Max it is!"
After finishing the pizza, it was another short walk to the theater. This particular place had been remodeled with theater seating and a THX sound system. The movie started and it was a true-to-form Mad Max movie from the start! I couldn't help but think what a great time the set designers had on this movie. Dystopian Mad Max; a style to look forward to! The chase travels through a giant sandstorm in one part of the movie. An orange-red-yellow-ocher sandstorm. The storm in the movie was over-the-top huge, but for me, there was no mistaking what I was seeing.
"That's it!....the 'orange storm' in my dream!" I whispered to Elaine. She turned and looked at me.
"That's intense!" She whispered back.
"Not as large, but just as intense. I know this is supposed to be Australia. I wonder if that has anything to do with it?" I quietly replied.
She gave a frown and went back to the movie. Getting pulled back into the plot wasn't hard, with all the action at hand. Charlize Theron was great, as was Tom Hardy! Good escape flick!
The movie ended and it was still early, so we went out for a drink. We talked about various scenes and anecdotes from the movie; laughed and critiqued. I guess that's a sign of a good movie. I changed the topic to the dust cloud. I detailed my dream and mentioned how close the comparison was.
"Dude, you're really fucked up! You know that don't you?" Mac said in mock seriousness. I gave him the 3 read 'between the lines' fingers!
"Don't worry though, you're running with the right crowd! I experienced something very similar. I'll tell you about it someday. In the interim, write down your dream. You'll see patterns develop!" He said with a thoughtful smile, sipping his whiskey. I shot a glance at Elaine.
"Yeah, someone else suggested that." I smiled.
"It's not all that uncommon," Paige added.
"This is strange stuff. I just don't know how to read and interpret all this symbology."
"Oh, it's easier than you think! Just don't think!" Paige said with one of her evil grins.
"Thanks for the tip, Yoda!" I shot back at her. She laughed.
We wound things up around 10:30. They had to go back across the bay, and we generally don't stay up late. We walked up to the Bart station and talked, waiting for their train. Our next get-together would be heading up to Trinity Lake.
Back home, we decided to have a brandy and talk for a while. We changed clothes and went out on the balcony. It had been a nice day with a cool, foggy evening; San Francisco spring! There was some event down toward the marina with a lot of bright lights and people milling around.
"You mentioned that the division is moving to Colorado Springs?"
"Mmm. Looks like it's firming up. The final move won't be until next year." She answered, sipping her cognac.
"What about you.....us?"
"No worries, babe! I have a number of connections all throughout the company, and I have something in the works. It's still somewhat nebulous, so I'm not going to say much right now. OK? If it goes the way I hope, I think you'll really like this!" She shared.
I looked Pendik Escort (https://pendik.t2bro.net/) at her for a long moment. "Yeah, I'll trust."

The Road Up
Mid-June finally arrived. We left on a Friday morning and went northbound against traffic, which made life easier! Mac had borrowed a Toyota pickup with a camper shell on it. We were going to rendezvous with them on Highway 101 North. This is the longer route, but much more scenic! The alternative, Interstate 5, traveling through the California central valley is like being in a coma! Seriously!

After a bit of coordination, we had a visual of each other just north of San Quentin. Highway 101 follows the California coastal range and is a really nice drive! Smooth going until we hit a bank of Tule fog north of Ukiah. Slowing the truck, even with the boat, is quick! Ed had put on a brake modulator, or some such, to improve the braking. The sun had broken through all the haze and fog to make a gorgeous day. Elaine, who's always the Road Music Mixmaster, plugged one of her music for long drive collections. It's all the usual sing-along stuff from the radio: Ring of Fire, Hope you had the Time of your life, Talking Heads, etc. The same thing we've been doing for years. We made a stop at Arcata for lunch. Arcata is a small fishing town on the Pacific coast. We turned onto Highway 299 which cut over to Trinity Lake. A couple of miles down is Ed
